      Product Story

      The K’No people, an ethnic minority in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, have a rich tradition tied to the land they call home. Coffee, introduced to Vietnam in the 1800s during the era of French colonial plantations, has become an integral part of their agricultural practices. 

      20 years ago, smallholder farmers in the Dung K'No region began cultivating coffee on very modest plots, typically less than 2 hectares. With little to no formal training, these farmers honed their skills through experience and perseverance. In 2017, our partner, dedicated to supporting several hundred small Arabica producers in Lam Dong province, began collaborating with the Dung K'No producers, enhancing their farming techniques and knowledge. 

      To ensure quality, the coffee cherries are hand-picked and transported to individual collection points, eliminating the need for assigned collectors, and thereby maintaining a higher standard. The cherries are then centrally processed at our partner's wet mill, where meticulous attention to detail and quality control are paramount. 

      After processing, the coffee is delivered to the dry mill in Bao Loc for hulling, sorting, and cupping according to protocols. Lots are categorized by cup profiles, with only the best profiles selected for the specialty program. Beyond quality improvements, our partners also provide social benefits, contributing to the well-being of the local community.

      Changed Vietnamese coffee for me

      Wowza! This is the first Vietnamese arabica coffee I've truly enjoyed.

      Nutty and caramel sweetness up front with a pleasant after taste of red apples.
